Screening and Program Training

We start with an assessment. Our purpose is to find the strengths and weaknesses of the child or adult seeking assistance and to look at the methods they use to complete a task. This gives us a direction in meeting that person’s needs.

We make referrals to specialists as needed. We may recommend an auditory assessment, auditory training system, kinesiology, homeopathy, metabolic investigation or other treatment. In this holistic approach the various interventions work together to help the person arrive at a point where they are ready and able to learn.

If appropriate to the client's needs we will recommend our literacy and numeracy
program. This is based on a visual/kinesthetic approach to learning and is geared
to the age of the person. An early learning program has been designed for children
under eight.

A child may start school with promise and enjoy the work in their early years, but
become disappointed and confused as time goes on. They may have the ability to
think quickly, to ask questions, to be creative, but may also be finding the process
of learning to read just too hard. Numbers may be confusing and sequences and
symbols problematic. Our program encourages the ability to visualise and think in
pictures and uses this as an effective learning tool.

Follow up is an essential part of our program. The new tools and methods learned
must be embedded in the daily routine and become part of the thinking process.
Regular sessions at home with a parent or tutor are particularly important. Review
sessions at our centre are included in the program for the period of a year.

Learning Creations includes developmental work in the programs in order to ensure
that each of our clients has reached a stage where they are ready to learn. The many
systems in our body must be integrated so that we can learn efficiently. If a child or
adult is putting in a great deal of effort in order to overcome a problem such as light
sensitivity or inefficient processing of sound, they may still be able to function, but
at a cost.

It is often very difficult to learn and retain new information under such circumstances
and despite their best efforts the child may fall behind in their work, becoming
frustrated and unhappy. It is our aim to make sure each person has the opportunity to
resolve these problems and go on to become the successful learner they hope to be.

Screener and Program Training

We also provide training in our assessment techniques and program activities, for groups
interested in gaining a deeper insight into and understanding of the Learning Creations
approach to learning and education.

The total Screener Training Fee is $ 2000.

Some people use the Screener Training with their family and friends, others within their
current employment or as a new venture. If program design and implementation is a
further goal then the next level of training - the Program Training - is also available
once the Screener Training is completed.
